Then they were captured and betrayed by someone from his own demon army then they were forced to turn Scarba, which is a demon turned Vampire. The Vampire leader told them that only one of them could survive if they wanted to be set free. Malkom, being use to being hungry lasted longer then his friend so when Kallen tried to feed off of Malkom knowing he was not as strong as Malkom. After years of being a blood slave Malkom tried to surrender his life to his best friend but the will to survive overtook him and he beheaded his friend instead of feeding from him like the Vampire Leader wanted. Malkom killed anyone who ever betrayed him, so the vampire Leader soon fell to his claws. Being Scarba or Venom he could no longer live with his demon people so he took to the mountains and made a lonely home for himself where everything around him feared him as IT.  Carrow, the party loving witch never saw this coming after being bailed out of jail for one of her many stays there for having too much fun in new Orleans. But Carrow's powers were fed off other peoples happiness so it was easy to make others happy if she was the fun loving one but deep down she knew no true happiness. When the people who bailed her out of jail then kidnapped her, she learned that her cousin had been beheaded leaving her 7 year old daughter orphaned, Carrow felt instant mother like feeling towards her little cousin and swore to take care of her. That's when she learned why she had been kidnapped.   It was to lead Malkom back to The Order, they are mortals who want to learn the weaknesses of all the Lores so they can use it against them to destroy them. Once Carrow is on the other plane she is saved and scared by Malkom numerous times and because she can't speak his language, they are unable to talk even after she starts to have feelings for him she wants to ask for his help instead of sending him to his doom. Malkom not use to having a female near him is not aware that he hurts her with a simple touch sometimes, all he knows is she in His! She is his vampire Bride who has blooded him and his Demon mate who will finally allow him to release his seed.  He's willing to follow her anywhere but if she doesn't send him to the Order they will kill her adopted daughter Ruby. Will Carrow betray Malkom? Or will he help her to have her? My Rating 4.5 

Jennifer Ashley- Pride Mates- Shifters Unbound

Like LT, I decided not to read too many "new" series or "one-book" series for a while but I broke my own rule with this one and damn I am so glad I did- I LOVED this book- not just liked but LOVED it. I started it Sat night and finished it Sun night- I could not put it down, even put off my plans to read this book.
Ok so here it goes, Liam is a shifter, a six foot six inches, black haired shifter with blue blue eyes- he can shift into a Fae-cat which is a combination of a few different big cats. He lives in Austin in a town called Shiftertown and as you can tell it is called that because all the shifters have to live there. All through the US there are Shiftertowns and different kinds of shifters live together there, lupines, felines and bears. Although some humans have dated the shifters the lines stay pretty much drawn in the sand. Liam is third in line of clan, there is a Clan which has a clan leader and then there are prides within the clan. Liam's Dad is in charge of his Pride so he put Liam in charge of most of the daily duties of the pride.

Kim is a human lawyer that is trying to get a Shifter off for murder, this is the first case against a shifter in the 20 years since the shifters came out to the humans. The shifters have to wear special necklaces to keep them from becoming feral. Kim believes that Brian is innocent and goes to Shiftertown to find someone that will stand up for him. Since Liam is in charge with direct orders from the clan leader to not let the human woman know anything and to get rid of her without helping her. Liam does not do what he is ordered to do and helps Kim get to Brian's mother to ask her some questions. Liam and his brother are called to handle a feral shifter and when they go to kill him the feral shifter gets a smell of Kim and goes after her to hurt Liam. Liam and Sean get to Kim's house in time to save her and kill the feral shifter, Liam makes Kim come stay at his house for her protection and by this time the sexual tension between these two is fantastic. So much more happens in this book so I highly recommend it- I could keep talking but it would give away the entire story.

Lora Leigh- Wolf's Hope

Wolfe and Hope met in the labs. Hope's mother created Wolfe. She uses her daughter Hope because she knows that Wolfe has mated with her. She throws Hope in the cage with him thinking he would mate with her but Hope was a teenager and Wolfe didn't want to do that to her. She is in her room when she hears the explosion of the labs, her mother tells her that the labs are engulfed with flames and that they are all dead. It is 6 years later and Hope has been in pain since she is mated to Wolfe and no one can touch her. She is leaving her apartment and she is kidnapped, when she wakes she knows that Wolfe has her because she is in pain from the mating heat and she only gets that way from his touch. Wolfe is mad at her because he was given pictures of her sleeping with other men, he wants Hope to tell him who they are and what is her mother's plans for them. She tells him that she hasn't slept with anyone but he tells her that the hymen is broke and not there. So she figures her mother did something when she went in for her last exam. Wolfe believes her and tells her that he is sorry for doubting her. He says the reason he is still here is because of her. The mother has found them and she plans on to kill Wolfe and to take Hope to breed children. Wolfe pulls something and the gun comes out of her hand but the mother has a dagger but Wolfe gets to her and kills her. He tells Hope that he is sorry for killing her mom but Hope says she is not sorry for that and that she was more worried about him. Ends the book with them together and brings in Jacob and Faith taking the mother's body back to the soldiers. Rating: 4 (special thanks to Sandy)

Sydney Croft- Tempting the Fire (book 5)

It's been a while since I read a book in two days but I did on this one, I could hardly put it down to go to sleep. Like the other books this one has a few different story lines going on at once but they are all tied together with the same people from the previous books with a few new ones thrown in. I will stick to the main four though, Marlena, who was Dev's personal assistant is now a Seducer, is sent on a mission with Sela who is a cryptozoologist but was a Seducer before. They are sent to the Amazon jungle to get information on Logan and his company who they believe is making weapons for Itor. Sela's special ability is to read a persons thoughts when they have an orgasms, but she was not sent to as a Seducer on this mission that is up to Marlena to get the info through sex. When they get to the jungle they are taken hostage by Logan and his men and taken back to their camp. Sela and Marlena are also there to find out what attacked and killed a group on Navy SEAL's and to see if they can locate the one that is considered missing. Logan is taken with Sela from the very beginning because of her smartass mouth so he keeps her close to him at all times. Marlena is sent to the medical tent to be held there until they can question them both but while there she finds Chance, the missing SEAL, he is wounded but is fully aware that she is now in the tent with him. He crawls on top of her and they have wild crazy sex and then she is taken away from him and he changes into a wild crazy creature. They all knew he was attacked by a Chupacabra but did not know he was infected and could turn into one. His pull to Marlena and the sex they had actually mated them for life. Sela did end up having to have sex with Logan but she could not get a good read on him, something in his brain was stopping her from getting the whole story. Long story short- Itor shows up wanting the original Chupa back or Chance in its place, Marlena wants to stay with Chance no matter what, ARCO agents show up, bad things happen, they all go back to ARCO and maybe there are happy endings, maybe not. I think I know who will be in the next book and I am really looking forward to it if it was as good as this one.  My Rating: 4.5

Sydney Croft- Taming the Fire (book 4)

Let's just start with HOLY HELL- I learned things in this book that shocked me!! (seriously not an easy thing to do) Trance is a secret agent with ARCO with a taste of the wild side, he spent years as a Dom liking all of his women being the Subs. When he joined ARCO he was still into that kind of sex but had grown tired of it, so when a special case came up Dev knew he was the man for the job. Trance's abilities are super strength and he can hypnotize someone by looking into their eyes. Trance is going to do something on this mission he has never done before and that is he will become the Sub and let a woman control all the sex and anything that goes with it. Now here is where I was shocked, man there are instruments that they place in a man's penis and they call them sounds- and yes I did have to look it up online to see what it was (insert red face here after reading what it does). So he goes after his mark, Rik, who is working in a sex club as a Dom but she is known for only seeing a client once. Rik escaped from Itor, she is the last of her kind, she is a woman with a wolf trapped inside of her, yes I know it sounds weird but read the book and it is explained better. She has to have sex and control the sex to keep her wolf at bay and happy. She uses Trance for some kinky sex and again here I am shocked with tools, safe words and such but she agrees to see him more than once. An Itor agent manages to find her, she escapes with Trance, turns into a werewolf from what she thinks is him turning on her, they go back to ARCO and he learns some disturbing news about her. Most of the other characters from the other books make a few appearances plus a few new people. You have to read to find about Dev, Oz and a mystery man but it is worth it- sad but worth it!!  Things come together in the end like I knew they would but all together this was a good read. My Rating: 4 

Sydney Croft- Seduced by the Storm (book 3)

Well just where do I start with Wyatt???  Of course Wyatt is a secret agent with ARCO and his special ability is telekinetics with a special sexual ability that makes him just about irresistible to almost anyone- male and females both with the only down side to that ability is that he can have sex with someone and they will not remember it the next day. Wyatt meets Faith in a bar in Florida where she is running from another agent that is trying to kill her. Little does Wyatt know that Faith also works for a secret agency like ARCO but it is one that she and a partner started years before in London. Wyatt is in Florida trying to get onto the oil rig that has the weather machine that Itor is controlling. Faith is also out to get the weather machine but unlike Wyatt she wants to get it to give to a group of blackmailers who she thinks are holding her twin sister hostage. Wyatt's orders are to destroy the machine no matter what. The night they meet in the bar they have incredible sex in her hotel room and he leaves her the next morning without saying goodbye, when they end up on the same rig both are surprised to see each other but him more so when she talks about the night of sex they had and him leaving her. The head Itor man controlling the weather machine is Faith's friend and ex-lover, he kidnaps Wyatt and uses Faith to control him with her other special ability- she can control a person's insides-like put pressure on a heart or squeeze a lung- so with cameras rolling she tells him to pretend she is torturing him instead she is healing him from his previous torture. So they get the weather machine and escape with bodies flying everywhere and they make it to shore. She finds out he is ARCO and he finds out she is from the other agency but they work together to go rescue her sister, who has not been kidnapped but is working with another bad group. Ok again people die, they escape with her sister, Wyatt & her sister are locked in a mental hospital, she helps him get free, mad crazy sex is going on, he leaves her and crushes the weather machine but it is too late a cat 5 hurricane is heading for NY. Remy & Haley go to try to destroy the hurricane with more mad crazy sex. Babies are born, new news of more babies on the way and Wyatt and Faith make up BUT tons more things happen in this book. Seriously these men in these books are funny and arrogant- I really like them!!!  My Rating: 4.5

Gena Showalter- The Amazons Curse (book 5)

Zane and Nola are a few of the ones from Atlantis that the Gods dropped onto the island in the last book, after both Zane and Nola were sent from the island they were punished in different ways. Zane was once a slave to the demon queen, he sold his body to her so she would free his would-be mate. That would-be mate grew to hate him because of the things he was forced (willingly) to do with the demon Queen. After Layel killed the queen, Zane and his would-be mate were freed. But instead of her going to him and being with him after all he sacrificed she ran off with another man. Zane soon learned he hated any one's touch.
Nola was amazon and her mother mated a man and raised her away from the tribe, they were penniless and sold Nola over and over again to any man that wanted to have sex with an amazon. Unable to take anymore Nola killed her parents and returned to the tribe.
The Gods knowing their pain punished them for not winning on the island and sent Zane to be a slave with the Amazons and made Nola soundless and invisible so no one was able to see nor hear her. For 4 months she was trapped in her amazon tribe watching them treat Zane horribly. Unable to help but finally realizing  that she loved him and had only told him she didn't want him because she was scared of her past. Mating season was in full effect and the Amazons had battled to bed Zane even though he had tried to escape many times hurting them, they saw him as a strong breeder for their offsprings. After Nola confessed her feelings she noticed that Zane's eyes were following her movements, realizing he could see her she helped him escape. But was still unable to touch him her hand ghosted through him. As they were running for freedom they learned that she was still unable to leave, she hit a invisible wall. She begged him to go knowing they would punish him but he refused to leave her. She convinced him they couldn't hurt her because they couldn't touch her. He left with a heavy heart promising to return as soon as he was healed, he'd been without blood for so long and had broken bones during his escape. She watched him leave only to be grabbed from behind by her amazon sisters, realizing she can now be touched and would be punished. Will Zane heal in time to save her? And will she ever be able to leave the camp?

Gena Showalter- The Vampire's Bride (book 4)

Layel, the Vampire King, who lost his love and mate 200 years ago to rouge Dragons, they raped and burned her alive in front of his eyes, killing her and their unborn child. Revenge is all he ever wanted, killing all the rouge dragons that very night it wasn't enough for him. So he wanted to kill the whole race and had been doing just that for the last 200 years. On rare occasions he didn't, the only time was when he saw one of the dragons fighting for their own mate. He always walked away from the battle so someone else's love had a chance unlike him and Susan. Delilah, an amazon woman wasn't like any other amazon she had desires to have a longterm mate instead of the twice a year when men were allowed in the tribe as slaves and only for mating. Waiting to ambush the dragons who had their Princess in a cage, they did not care why she was in a cage, just that she was. Unknowing to them the dragons were bringing her back after Princess Lily had wondered to their palace in hopes to prove she was a warrior. As they attacked the dragons Layel and his army joined the fight always ready to kill dragons when he could. He and Delilah faced off and he got the upper hand by dropping her, but to her that was sexiest thing he could have done. She wanted to be dominated or at least have a mate that could handle her. As the battle continued, out of nowhere they dropped into a black hole, they wake up on an island with two of each of the other races from Atlantis there with them. The Gods were bored and wanted to see which race was the strongest and deserved to live, so the pitted them against each other in two teams, on the losing team one of their members would die. With Delilah and Layel on different teams their attraction was seen as them being traders. So they tried to stay away from each other but she wanted him, little did she know he still felt like he was mated to his dead mate and in his mind had no room for a new love. He didn't think he deserved one since he was unable to save Susan and he hadn't finished off the whole race of dragons. Will they get off the island? Can Layel love another? How many licks does it take to get to the center of tootsie roll pop? The world may never know. My Rating: 4.5

Lora Leigh- Tanner's Scheme

This is the story of Tanner and Scheme. Tanner meets Scheme at a party, she's there looking for Jonas, since he doesn't show up she leaves and goes to a hotel. After a shower she finds that Tanner is there and then someone starts knocking at her door and he goes in the bathroom to hide. She opens the door to let Chaz, her former lover into the room. He says that she messed up and that Cyrus, her father,  knows what she is doing. Chaz moves in to kill her but Tanner kills him instead. He tells Cabal and the other Breeds to do a cleanup and he takes Scheme with him. He takes her to the caves in Sandy Hook where he knows he can keep her safe. Tanner asks her questions why her father killed her child and why he sent his assassin to kill her. Scheme doesn’t want to tell him anything. She is a double agent helping Jonas. She also knows that there is a spy in Sanctuary and she believes it could be Tanner. Scheme is awaken to the dark in the cave and she is having a panic attack. She yells for Tanner to not to do this to her, she is in complete darkness and feels that she is being buried alive again. Tanner comes back to caves and he feels her fear/hurt. He tells her all she had to do was stand up for the lights to come on. She tells him that her father buried her alive and had a recorder tell her how many hours/minutes she had left for air, with a few minutes to spare her father would release her. He punishes her if she messes up by letting a Breed go while she works in the labs. She also tells Tanner he killed the baby because he couldn’t have his daughter have a baby without being married and since Chas was the father he couldn’t let them get married. Scheme explains how Chaz had drugged her so her father could take her to have an abortion and had her fixed so she couldn’t have children. Scheme had loved Chaz and he had betrayed her with this, so she is afraid to trust Tanner even though she cares for him a lot. She has finally figured a way out of the caverns when she has followed Tanner’s footsteps. She is trying to get out to contact Jonas about the information she has. She knows that her father has his men around but she is giving up so she figures she is safe. Tanner realizes that the caves have been breached so he heads back to protect Scheme. He then realizes that she is the one that got out and he follows after her. While Scheme is trying to get to a phone she realizes that she can’t leave Tanner and decides to go back but she runs into Dog. Dog is one of her father’s coyotes. She is afraid because she knows that he will kill her and then Tanner appears and she is very happy. Dog tells Tanner to take her back before someone else decides to come. He is mad because she left but he has not had any signs that she is his mate. So he figures that Scheme is his twin’s mate, so he explains this to Cabal and he said he would be her mate knowing that she is Tanner’s mate but he has to make the animal come out for Tanner to see. So he pushes Scheme into thinking that he would take her. Tanner returns and Cabal backs away so Tanner wouldn’t attack now that he knows that Scheme is his mate. Jonas finds his way into the caves and tells them that they need to get back to Sanctuary. Scheme tells Jonas about Cyrus’s plan to kidnap David. Tanner is mad that she didn’t tell him this information and she explained why she didn’t but that she was going to before they showed up. Tanner and Scheme go to Sanctuary to have a meeting with the Breed council to tell them of her father’s plan and that the spy he has is very close to them because the spy knows about David’s tracking device. When they leave the meeting, Jolian, Tanner’s assistant is looking for notes. Tanner and Cabal suspect that she is the spy but Scheme refuses to believe it. Callan has a party to announce Tanner and Scheme’s engagement. Scheme sees Jolian and wants to help her because she knows that she is hurt. Jolian falls to the floor and Scheme goes to check on her and everything becomes black. She awakens in a Jeep with Tamber, who is a Breed and the spy and she has David as well. Scheme is trying to get her hands out of the knots, David helps her and then he attacks Tamber. The jeep turns over and Tamber is knocked out, so David and Scheme are trying to hurry and get back to Sanctuary. Tanner and the Breeds have let out the lions and are trying to get to Scheme and David. David smells the lions and says that they are close but Tamber comes to and has gun to David. Scheme wants to save David so she tells Tamber to let him go because of the information she has on the first Leo. Tamber lets David go and grabs her and heads to the plane that is coming for them. Scheme refuses to move because she sees the lion and knows that it will kill them. Tanner and the rest of the Breeds catch up and they kill Tamber. Scheme is hurt but she will be fine. It ends with Cyrus being charged and taken to jail.  My Rating: 5 (special thanks to Sandy)

Gena Showalter- The Nymph King (book 3)

Valerian, King of the Nymphs, has never had to work for sex or attention, being a Nymph all women are crazy with lust to be with him and he gives off a scent that you can't deny. That is until Shaye, a self proclaimed Heartless Bitch meets him.  She taught herself at a young age that if you had emotions you more likely to get hurt. She watched her parents do some horrible things in the name of love and she didn't want to be some weak female that got hurt over and over again, so she shut herself off.  Valerian was tired of roaming with his people so he decided to take the palace of the dead dragon Javor, Darius tutor. Darius couldn't watch both palaces and portals out of Atlantis which leads to the surface, so he sent some young hatchlings to take over until he could find another guardian. Valerian knew it would be dangerous so he left the female Nymphs in a safe place thinking he would send for them once he got settled more. Later when he did send for them they came up missing, Nymphs must have sex for strength and they will weaken fast. All females in the outer city knew they would go mad from lust if around a Nymph so they stayed hidden, with no other choices and his men soon to be too weak to defend the palace when Darius came to try to retake it he choose to use the portal to go to the surface to kidnap woman for his men. Valerian had promised not to take another human as his because he was the only one in the palace that was having sex, he had 3 females that had wondered through the portals days before. Once he and his men went to the portal and submerged in the ocean they walked to a beach where they found all the women they needed at Shaye's mothers sixth wedding. Valerian hasn't been looking for his mate but once he saw Shaye he knew she was the one for him and wanted no others. But he had also promised not to take a female while his men were suffering. Valerian was so use to women falling at his feet he was sure Shaye would do the same, so when he told her to "Come" she answered with an " Up Yours" and grabbed a knife. After taking the woman back to Atlantis he told Shaye how to make sure none of his men would choose her, she kicked , she cursed , she ignored them and all men had choose other more willing woman that begged to be touched by any of them, Valerian's plan had almost worked until his jealous cousin saw how much Valerian wanted Shaye. So when it was his turn to pick the woman he really wanted was pick by another, he pick Shaye just to use her as a power play against his cousin. Will Valerian get Shaye back from his cousin?  And if he does will he be able to seduce her when he never had to seduce a woman before? My Rating: 4

Lora Leigh- Harmony's Way

Harmony aka Death is a killer who both the Breeds and the Council are after. Jonas has been after her awhile now so when he catches up to her finally he takes her to Sanctuary. He runs some tests on her and then tells her that she has to work with Lance and his department for 6 months and she would be free of the charges against her, she agrees. Lance and her meet and discover they are mates. Jonas doesn't want to give Harmony the hormone medicine to keep her from conceiving but Lance talks Braden into to getting the scientist to bring it to her. Harmony is afraid to let anyone in because she is afraid she will get them killed because of all the killing she has done. They go to a murder scene where someone has killed a bartender using the same MO as Death uses but Harmony knows the difference from her kills. Lance wants to know what Harmony has that Jonas wants so badly but she doesn't want to tell him. So she runs into her friend Dane, who has helped her out of a lot of situations she tells him that she can't leave. They are called to Mason's house where he has his wife and kid, Mason has beaten his wife and has fired at the cops. Harmony goes around back and brings Mason down and lets the other officers come in and lock him up. They go back to the office where there is a crowd of protesters and Alonzo, who is a supremacist that wants to get rid of the breeds. They clear out the protesters and lock Mason up. Lance has the special “gift” from his grandfather, he can listen to the wind and knows when there is danger or when it is trying to tell him something. He is called about the murder of Mason and he asks Harmony did she kill him, she tells him no but she believes that he doesn't believe her. They go to the scene and they see the same MO as Death uses again. They realize someone is trying to frame her so they go back to office and Jonas is there and he tells them that he is taking Harmony back to Sanctuary. Lance refuses to let her go and he tells Jonas that he can't take her because she is pregnant. She is worried now that she has a baby growing in her, she is afraid that she will not be able to protect the baby. Harmony confides in Lance why she killed Jonas' mother because she was going to kill him. Harmony protected Jonas and she tells Lance that he wants the information on Leo. Leo is the first breed and he is still alive. Jonas wants him to get some answers about the not aging and mating cycle to save the Breeds. So they go to retrieve the information where they get trapped and Lance knows that he must give up his life to let Harmony and the baby lives. He takes a bullet to the chest and Jonas is there to take him to a hospital. Harmony sees Dane get the information that they were searching for. Harmony hears the doctors say that he is not going to make it, Lance is listening to the wind and he hears Harmony’s pain. So he is trying to fight to stay alive for her, Megan helps Harmony go to the spiritual part of him to help Lance survive, he comes out fine. Dane tells Harmony that he loves her and that he and others will be there to protect her. It ends with Jonas getting closer to find the spy at Sanctuary. My Rating: 3 (special thanks to Sandy)

Lora Leigh- Megan's Mark

This is the story of Braden and Megan. Megan works with her cousin Lance at the sheriff's office and when she is on patrol she notices a truck left out in the open in the canyons. She realizes that the two people inside the truck are dead but while she is looking around she notices there are two people waiting on her. She ducks for cover and she meets up with Braden who is a breed and they kill the two people after her. Braden is trying to figure out who is killing breeds because the two dead people in the truck are a breed couple. There is chemistry between Megan and Braden at the beginning, in order to protect Megan, Lance tells her that Braden will be staying with her. Megan is stubborn and she doesn't want him staying there so she storms out of office and goes home. While at home her dog hears something outside, Megan realizes that there are people in her house so she goes out the window to go around front to attack them. Megan takes out one and her dog takes the other one out. Braden, Lance, her father and grandfather all show up and are worried about her. So Braden ends up staying with her now. Braden knows Megan is an empath and he tells her that he can help her with the emotions/feelings to where she isn't weakened by it. They go back and search the caves to see if they can learn anything about the two breeds that were killed, she is upset that Braden was using her empath abilities but he does let his abilities help her to block her feelings. Jonas calls a meeting at the office with Lance because he says that someone is giving information to the people after Megan. He is accusing Lance but he is just testing him to make sure Lance wasn't the one which made Megan mad. Megan does not like him and knows he has some information on the breeds that died. He states that they were at another part of the desert in a cave for awhile. They go check it out and realized that there are people there to get them, they get to their vehicle and are chased by another vehicle and motorcycles that have missiles. They loose the vehicle but the motorcycles have shot a missile at them. Their vehicle gets wrecked and Braden kills the drivers of the motorcycles. He stalks to Megan and bites her because of the fear he had of her being hurt and marks her as his. She has a memory about the breed couple from the Academy and is trying to remember the other person involved, she remembers that it is Senator Cooley her dad's good friend. Braden and Megan plus the other breeds protecting her decide to go in town, they warn Sanctuary about the two men there from Senator Cooley that is giving him information. Braden and Megan are followed by Cooley and their men, they pull a gun on them but she keeps him talking to distract him. Cooley knows the breeds are moving in so he tells his man to kill Braden, she pulls out her gun and shoots the coyote but is slow shooting Cooley and he shoots her also. She is okay and has surgery then they agree to go to Sanctuary to let them run tests. It ends with Jonas having information about a female breed giving breeding information to the council. Gena Showalter- Jewel of Atlantis (book 2)

Gray James was sent to Atlantis by his job, OBI, which is similar to the men in black, they take care of all the weird things normal humans didn't know existed (aliens monsters and so on). His goal was to find the jewel of Dunamis. It was said this jewel had powers unlike any other and could tell the owner what all their enemies were planning against them and could tell if someone lied or spoke the truth. So every creature wanted to own Dunamis and quite a few did over time. After somehow escaping being beheaded while sneaking through the portal, Gray spent 3 days fighting for his life because anything that came across him saw him as a meal and tried to take a bite out of him. On the 3rd day, Gray had thought he had totally lost his mind when he heard a sexy sensual female voice in his head telling him she knew a way to safety. But Gray was too manly and to stubborn to listen to her at first. After her telling him she could lead him to safety and to the Dunamis all he had to do was save her then he started to believe the voice in his head was true.  Jewel has had visions of Gray's whole life, she has seen his future and knew he would be coming to Atlantis. She had fallen in love with him by watching his life through her visions and she wanted to be with him but was being held and used by demons. She knew the only way to be free was if she could get Gray to save her. Once she convinced him to save her, she changed her mind realizing he would be in danger but it was too late. Gray burst into the demons palace guns and grenades blasting, he saved her and once he had her in his arms he knew he had been dreaming of her life also. He also knew they could never be together, they were from two different worlds and he had a job to do. If he didn't get it done OBI would send in more men that could possibly be killed and he wanted to protect Jewel so that meant leaving her. So they set off to find the Dunamis and her long lost father in hopes he could keep her safe. Is love stronger than two people being worlds apart?  Will Gray ever find the Dunamis or Jewel her father?  My Rating: 4

Tom "Ender" Knight is what else but ex-military, Delta Force, and proud of it. The character is such an arrogant man that I thought I would not like him at all but he turned out to be a pretty funny asshole. Dev sends him to Idaho to bring back a woman who can communicate with the animals and yes they call her an animal whisperer. Kira has been able to talk to and hear what animals say since she was born and her family thought she was strange. When she hit puberty she started going into heat once a year for four weeks straight, during this time she has to have sex every four hours or she will die. Over the years she moved around a lot partially due to her mating heat, she would have sex with any man, friends husbands or boyfriends, she just didn't care as long as she had sex. Itor has been after her for many years and they blew up slaughter houses and other things and made sure she was accused of doing it all. When Tom found her she was working at a wild life ranch taking care of all the animals. Itor sent in their own man, Derek, to see if she could bring her into their company to work for them. Tom and Derek knew each other from their military days and did not get along then but now it was worse. Kira knew she was coming into heat and had sex with Tom but she didn't want it with any other man after their first time, which was unusual for her since she was use to having numerous sexual partners during her heat. Tom was sent to bring her into ARCO or kill her but he fell in love with her instead but would he admit that he loved her- nope!! Danger came looking for them, they escaped and made it back to ARCO and things really get exciting now but I'm not telling anymore- read the book- you might like it!!!   My Rating: 4

Lora Leigh- Primal Heat

This is the story of Tarek and Lyra. Tarek and Lyra have been neighbors for six months. It starts out with Tarek taking a weed eater to her rose bushes and since Tarek has been in a lab he is not exactly sure how to mow his lawn. Lyra teases him about it and tells him to keep his tools away from her yard. He goes back to his house that he loves, it gives him peace and keeps the nightmares away about the labs. Tarek smells Lyra's homemade bread and her coffee, he decides to go over to get some. Lyra loves to cook so when she sees Tarek at her door she knows that he is wanting something else besides apologizing for her rose bushes. She sees the longing look he gives to her bread, so Lyra tries to  barter with him to get a shed out of it and he tells her he is not handy with a hammer. She gives him the bread and lets him take some home. Tarek is awaken at night and he realizes there is an intruder over at Lyra's house. Tarek sees where the intruder cut off her security system and Tarek goes after him so he can't hurt her. Lyra comes out on the porch and starts shooting at the intruder, he gets away and Tarek tells Lyra not to tell the police about him that he will explain after they leave. Tarek calls Jonas to let him know about the situation and he is gonna send help also Tarek tells Jonas that he needs to have a check up due to his swollen tongue and glands. Jonas then tells him that it is from the mating heat. Lyra decides not to wait for Tarek, he catches her in his yard and is upset because she didn't wait for him to come back for her. He explains about the intruder and then tells her about the mating heat. He gives her a choice either to leave and he will stay away or they will be together always Lyra stays with him. She cannot believe that he doesn't cook, so she gets some food from her house and decides to cook. The trainers are down in the kitchen and they put a gun to her temple, she thinks of ways to warn Tarek because they have covered their scent so she lets her fear warn him. Tarek smells her fear and calls in backup, he comes downstairs to talk so he can distract the trainer to give him some time. Tarek smells the breeds out back with Lyra's father and brothers so when they break in the doors she ducks out the way he shoots the trainer and goes under the table to protect her. She tells him to move because her brothers/breed are tearing up the house. One of the brothers is mad at her and Tarek doesn't like it. They get into a fight then calm down and talk about it. Tarek and Lyra admit their love for another and promise not to leave each other. My Rating: 3 (special thanks to Sandy)

Lora Leigh- Soul Deep

This is the story of Amanda and Kiowa. Book begins on Halloween with Amanda giving out candy to the kids. When she goes back in her house, she sees that there are four men there to kidnap her. Amanda is the president's daughter and they are tyring to get her to keep the president from signing a breed law that allows them as regular citizens. Kiowa has been put on security detail of Amanda by his friend Dash. Amanda tries to make a run out the front door and she screams but the men knock her out, he hears her scream and goes to save her. He takes care of the men and he takes her to his place. He calls Simon to come and take Amanda off his hands because he doesn't want this problem. Amanda wakes up and he tells her to be quiet so no one knows about them because they do not need anyone to come after them. She tells him yes and when he removes the gag she screams. Kiowa kisses her to silence her and realizes it was a mistake, now the mating cycle starts because they are mates. Dash tells them to get to the breed compound so they can be secure. While going to the breed compound they are attacked by helicopters. The other breeds are there to help out and Tanner comes flying his helicopter and takes care of the other men. Kiowa wants answers because he didn't know about the mates and the mating frenzy. Dash and Callan explain it to him and Amanda overhears it. Kiowa then comments that there is nothing they can do about it and Amanda begins to faint. Kiowa didn't go to keep her from falling on the floor but Callan did. When Callan touched her she was in alot of pain because of the mate issue. The women cannot stand for anyone to touch them during the breeding cycle. So Kiowa goes to her. Amanda and Kiowa are both stubborn. Amanda doesn't think she can love him because he is a total stranger. Amanda decides to let them do some tests on her because she is in so much pain from her cycle. Kiowa comes back to sees this and is upset because Amanda is in pain from them touching her, he tells them to leave. Amanda decides to leave the compound so she can get back to her life because Kiowa won't listen to anything. They catch her before she leaves and return to the house. Kiowa is upset because she tried to leave him. Kiowa is having his own issues because he was raised by his grandfather who left him alone as a kid, his mother died when he was very young and the grandfather only came to bring food and books. Kiowa's grandfather told him that he didn't have a soul and that he was an animal. Amanda demands that Kiowa let her go to the lab and do the tests so they can try and figure out the breed cycle. He tells her to go and while she is gone Cassie comes to the house. She explains to him that his mother always loved him and that she didn't know that her father would treat him like that. Cassie also tells him that he needs to get the quilt that the mother made for him and he needs to go to Amanda. Kiowa gets a call that Amanda needs him because she is in alot of pain because of them touching her while they are doing the tests. He comes and holds her because she wants to continue when he just wants to get her away from the pain. They do figure more out about the breeding cycle. Kiowa takes her back to the cabin to let her rest because she is exhausted. Amanda tells him that she wants to go home and then falls asleep. Kiowa decides to give her life back since the cycle is over so he leaves her. He runs into Dash and finds out that she didn't get pregnant and Dash tells Kiowa to stay, but he thinks it is better for Amanda if he leaves so she can return to her life. Kiowa goes back to the shack that he stayed at when he was a kid and retrieves the quilt his mom made him. He turns and sees Amanda there, she tells him that she has been looking for him ever since he walked away without saying goodbye. The book ends with Amanda and Kiowa getting married and that the compound is now a Sanctuary and the breed law was passed do they can be treated as regular citizens.  My Rating: 3.5 (special thanks to Sandy)

Lora Leigh- Kiss of Heat

This is the story of Sherra and Kane. Sherra met Kane at the labs when she was being held by the Council. They used Kane to mate with her and when she thought he would help her and her pride mates escape but he left her. Many years later he showed back up in her life since he is Merinus' brother. Sherra and Kane loved each other but Dayan told Sherra that he left and wasn't coming back and Kane thought she was dead. Now they are both at the breed house in Virginia. Kane is cocky and he gets on everyones' nerves with the cat comments. Sherra and Kane are always fighting with each other because neither will admit that they still love the other. Sherra is in heat but she has dealt with the pain for 10 years and doesn't plan on doing anything about it now. Sherra is on patrol when she is told about a breech, she finds the guy and he has a missile launcher. She shoots him but he launches the missile, she tells everyone to evacuate. The missile didn't hit the house but some debris does. She is told to come back because Merinus is upset and she needs to help Doc, she knows Kane is the one hurt. She goes to help them and discovers the scars on Kane from where Dayan tried to kill him. The doc tells Sherra to make sure Kane gets rest but Sherra is still trying to avoid Kane and he is determined to have her. There is another breach and Sherra is to keep Cassie in the house, Cassie runs out and jumps into the limo. It is Roni's dad and brother. Kane is upset that Cassie did this and he gives her a spanking and he gets mad at Sherra for not containing her. But Cassie went out there to save Kane because he would be in the line of a bullet. The guy that launched the missile told the breed that he got to them through the caves,  Sherra, Jonas, and the other breeds check out the caves. Kane comes to them and is upset that they are in the caves, he feels that they are dangerous. Sherra tells Kane that an explosive will be going off and everyone runs out of the cave,  no one is seriously hurt. Kane is hurting in his man parts (lol) because Sherra won't make love to him. Sherra and Kane talk and they will work through all their problems/concerns together. Sherra moves into Kane's room while she is in her room packing Cassie comes in and says that she was alone and scared. Sherra realizes someone is in the house, she hides Cassie to keep her safe. The chauffeur from the limo has tried to kidnap Roni so Sherra shoots him. He wanted to get Roni, Merinus, and Cassie to take them to the Council. The breeds are now fighting back with any attacks to them now. Sherra finds out she is pregnant and she is surprised since she lost their first child ten years earlier in the labs. Ends with Tanner going after one of the senator's daughters. Lora Leigh- Elizabeth's Wolf

This is the story of Dash and Elizabeth. It starts out with Dash in a hospital over in the Middle East, when the helicopter he was on got blown up. He is ready to give up until he receives a letter from a little girl, the letters he received gave him the reason to keep going. He realizes that the little girl and her mother need help financial and mentally. He sends a bicycle and toys to the little girl for Christmas, then the letters just stop and he has to know what happened to them.  He learns that their apartment was burned down and they are dead. So Dash decides to get revenge on who killed them, but he receives another letter from the girl asking him to help her and her mother. Dash has been getting close to them for 6 months when he finally catches up with them and tells Elizabeth that he is there to protect them. He helps Elizabeth and Cassie to get away from the bad guys that try to kidnap them. Dash has a feeling that there is something else about Cassie besides seeing her Dad get killed by Grange, an evil Council member. Elizabeth sees the mark on Dash's shoulder and she says Cassie has the same mark so he knows that Cassie is a breed. Dash calls Kane who is he old military buddy and asks if the breeds about protecting Cassie, she goes with them reluctantly. Dash trains Elizabeth so they can get the information about Cassie from Grange. His other friends from the army and the breeds come to help him. Dash doesn't want it because he doesn't want to be responsible for anyone getting hurt. They are at Grange's house, he gives them some papers and the papers say that Cassie will be a killer since she is a mix between a wolf and a coyote. They know they have to destroy the papers to protect Cassie. Grange pulls a gun but Elizabeth sees him and shoots him but his gun still goes off and the bullet hits Elizabeth. Dash tells her to hold on for him and the baby she carries. On the way to the hospital, she goes unconscious. A week later, Elizabeth is in the hospital but is recovering with both of them getting better and stronger. She gets to see Cassie and everything is okay. Cassie asks Dash if she can call him Daddy and he makes a promise that Cassie will not be a bad person when she gets older.  My Rating: 4 (special thanks to Sandy)

Lora Leigh- The Man Within

This is the story of Taber and Roni. Roni and Taber have known each other since she was eleven. The book starts out with Taber bailing Roni out of jail again. Things get hot and heavy between the two of them and he puts his mark on her neck while they are making out, then takes her back to garage and tells her to decide if she wants to go any further with him. Taber tells her that he will be back for her decision but later Roni receives a note that he doesn’t want anything to do with her and she hasn’t seen him for months. She sees on the news where Callan has come out about them and hears the story of how Merinus has breeded with Callan. Roni has that same mark on her neck but she knows Taber doesn’t want anything to do with her. Reginald, her father, comes back into her life, she knows that he is scheming, so she goes into town to get parts for her truck so she can leave town. While in town, the reporters find her and show her mark to the cameras. John O’Brien helps her escape to his house where Taber and Callan have seen the news about Roni,  so Taber takes a helicopter to pick her up. When he gets to the house where Roni is, Taber kisses her and when the breeds kiss, their tongue sends out a potent hormone into her body that builds up the mating frenzy. Roni is taken to their mansion in Virginia that the Genetics council once owned. Roni feels that Taber only wants her because of the mating frenzy, she feels that he will just let her go after. She is talking to Merinus when snipers have gotten by the mansion. Roni puts herself in front of Merinus to protect her and her baby but a bullet hits her in the shoulder. Taber and Callen are worried because their mates were hurt. Roni wants Taber to tell her about the barb but he doesn’t want to let her know because he is afraid what she might think about it, she also wants him to answer her questions but he doesn't so she throws a crystal bowl at him. Roni calls Taber a liar and he is tired of being accused of being a liar, they both discover that neither of them wrote the notes all those months before. Taber tells her that is was Dayan, she still wants to know about the barb that all the Breeds have that come out during mating sex, but the security alarms blare, it turns out to be Reginald. He states that he just wanted to see his daughter. Roni feels that he is up to something, she wants them to just put him out of the compound but they let him stay at the barracks with other breeds keeping an eye on him. There is a breech and Taber goes to help the other breeds while Dawn and Sherra stay with Roni and Merinus. Roni and Dawn are forced to leave the bedroom because of men out on the balcony. Taber, Callan, and the other breeds go to his bedroom since that is where the men are trying to get the women. They get to them but Kane wants the men alive to question about who sent them, then there is a bright red light but Taber used his other senses and kills the man because he had a gun and was just going to shoot. The mating frenzy has slowed down since Roni has conceived, while she is sitting in the living room Reginald broke into the house somehow. He tells her that if she leaves with him that he will tell her who her real father is, he tries to grab her she jumps over the couch to get away from him but he grabs her ankle and then punches her. Taber roars when he sees Reginald punch Roni, the two men are fighting all over the living room. Reginald tells him that the press will know if he kills him and Taber says he doesn’t care. Taber sees Reginald pull out a gun but when he moves out of the way another breed shoots him. Taber goes to Roni and makes sure she is okay. It ends with Aaron Lawrence seeing his daughter Roni on tv. He asks Seth to not tell Roni that he is her father.  Rating: 4.5 (special thanks to Sandy)

Lora Leigh- Tempting the Beast

This is the story about Callan and Merinus. Merinus and her family are wanting a story for their newspaper on Callan they know he is part human and animal, which is a lion. Merinus tells her family that she wants to talk to him and get the story. So she goes down and tries to convince Callan to come forward about the lab and what they did to him. He ignores her because he knows that she is a reporter. But then someone calls stating they have the location where Callan is, she goes but the two men attack her, they are from the council who made Callan and the rest of the Breeds. Callan rescues her then takes her back to her hotel. She goes to garage that Callan owns and tells him that he needs to take his story to public. This is when the mating frenzy starts and Dr. Martin and Sherra try to run tests to help them. She learns that Callan isn't the only one that escaped, that he has a pride with him- Dawn, Sherra, Taber, Tanner, and Dayan are members of his pride that escaped with him. Merinus tries to control the mating frenzy so she escapes from Callan and goes to her camp where she has an extra cell phone, she calls her brother Kane, Callan catches up with her but she has made the call already. He is concerned that her family will try and hurt his pride. Dayan then challenges him as Pride leader but Callan defeats him. They return back to their place and Merinus is determined that she can control the mating frenzy, so Sherra is there and gets more samples to figure out about the mating frenzy. Callan wants her to submit to him but Merinus refuses to give in. They are then awakened to discover that the Council has found their location and are after them, but the council was sent for Merinus because they know Callan has mated with her. They want her so they can do their experiments. Callan and the pride escaped from them but Dayan has disappeared as usual when the danger comes. Callan and Merinus go to his safe house where he decides that to protect Merinus he has to go public about what he is. Callan calls Kane to set up a conference now and then he will go to D.C. to senate hearing. The tests confirm that the mating frenzy will conceive a child from it. Callan tells Merinus this, he then admits to her that he can't live without her and that he will do everything to protect her and the child. Dayan has found them at the safe house where he plans on killing the whole pride except for Dawn and Sherra. He is keeping them to breed with. Merinus keeps him talking until Callan comes down from showering, Dayan tells him that he killed Marie (Callan’s adoptive Mom) because she tried to convince Callan to go public before. Callan and Dayan are fighting and Callan defeats him by snapping his neck. Merinus' family has tracked them because Dayan destroyed the phone that they had marked with a GPS. In the epilogue, Callan and the pride testify at the Senate hearing where the public shows affection for the treatment against the pride. From this they shut down the labs and arrest General Governy as he is the head of the council. Rating: 4 (special thanks to Sandy)

Darius was a dragon who lost his family at a very early age, due to travelers entering the mist that wasn't guarded. After their deaths Darius took the job as the Guardian of the Mist. His pain was too great to handle so he was taught by his tutor Javar to bury the pain deep inside, after 300 yrs of killing anyone who entered the cave that lead from the mist, he hadn't just buried his pain but also his emotions along with his sight for colors and the taste of food. He felt nothing but calm indifference that is until Grace stumbled into the cave after days of being lost in the Amazon looking for her missing brother, who had been searching for the portal to the lost city of Atlantis where all the mystical creatures lived banished by the gods. Grace's brother had sent her a necklace and a journal of what he found so when she was unable to contact him, she came looking for her brother but instead of finding her brother she found a huge emotionless man wielding a sword in preparations of taking her head as she exited the mist. Grace sees this and pulls her gun to protect herself but it is out of bullets so she closes her eyes as she prepares to die. But as Darius is swinging the sword he pulls it back slightly and only the wind from the swing is felt by Grace's neck. Darius has no idea why he can't kill her like his oath says he should but he takes her to his palace to question her and also notices that she wears a dragon necklace. Even thought there's a strong bond to Darius she still escapes and as she runs and dives back through the mist she hears Darius yell that he will come after her.  She is then found by her brother employers and they help her out of the amazon, even though they are helping her Grace feels that they are not being honest with her about the whereabouts of her brother. Back in Atlantis Darius learns that Javar's palace has been taken by humans with weapons he has never seen. His first thought is to find Grace and get those answers from her about why her brother had a dragon necklace and if he's the human that has come to Atlantis. Now that Darius is standing at the foot of the bed of a sleeping Grace in her apartment he knows he wants her for more then just answers. Will Darius be able to save the other dragon palace? Is Grace brother involved? Can Grace and Darius see past their differences and work together? RATING 4

Remy is a soon to be ex-Navy SEAL who can control the weather or better yet the weather can control Remy. Remy Sr. adopted him when no one else would take him in. Even at a young age Remy was able to make it rain or storm. When he got old enough to leave the bayou he joined the Navy but soon his team found out that he was a little strange with storms always coming up when he was around or having their equipment short circuit out when he was near. Remy received a voice mail from his father which didn't sound right to him so he went home to check on his alcoholic father. Haley is a parameteorologist who works for ARCO, an agency that provides people with special abilities to help the US and other countries with secret missions. Haley was sent to bring Remy into the ARCO family and to use any means necessary to get him to join. What Haley didn't know was that when there was a storm coming or when Mother Nature wanted to play with Remy he had uncontrollable lust that had to be sated. He was wild with lust and could barely control his body during storms. Haley knew having sex with him was not offically part of the job but she did it anyway and Remy noticed a tattoo on her hip, he was shocked to see the same tattoo on her hip that he designed himself and had been dreaming about since he was 10 years old. After a very wild night of sex he woke up to have the same tattoo mirror imaged onto his hip. He then started thinking Haley was more than what she was telling him she was, so she explained what she could about ARCO but at that same time the evil group Itor tried to kidnap both of them. Itor did capture them both and Remy found out that he and Haley could have mind sex through their tattoos. So with help from other ARCO agents they escaped but Haley was injured in the process. They were all taken back to ARCO headquarters and he was given the option of joining but he would not decide until he knew Haley was ok and he was able to talk to her about it. At separate times they were both told that the reason they both had the same tattoos were because they were soul mates- awww so sweet. Ok SO much more happened in this book, I highly recommend you read this series. My Rating: 4.5

This is new series. Very different than anything I’ve read, but I wish I had more than one book, I’m looking forward to the second book coming out in Nov.

After their mother disappeared their father spent the rest of his life looking for her but finally gave up and walked off into the desert to die. With their busy lives Gillian and her two sisters hardly ever got to spend any time together expect their trips to Egypt where they all had their own jobs to do. Gillian’s job was to find the grave of Lt. Rhys Kilpatrick to prove he did die 125 years ago and didn't abandon his army. What she didn't know was about the different realms and gods of light and dark. Rhys and Seth knew she was getting close to the portal to their realm, so Seth sent Rhys to either kill her for her knowledge or bring her in to become a part of their world. Well while Rhys and Gillian fall for each other quickly they had no idea that a Vision had been told that she will marry Seth. Rhys thought he could talk his best-friend and lord into letting him keep Gillian for his own. But with the Vision Seth couldn’t let that happen, so they were torn apart only to have to sneak around to be together over and over. After Rhys was threaten to be beheaded if he didn’t stay away from Gillian she agreed to marry Seth. Gillian finds out that her mother may still be alive but being held by the evil priest demigod Vampire of the light. Rhys says he can’t stay and watch Seth claim his woman and tells her he will go to live with Cult of Light in hopes he can stop the war between the two realms. Will Gillian find her mother? Will love be stronger than war? Who will claim Gillian? My Rating: 4.5

Karen Marie Moning- The Highlanders Touch (book 3)

He’s lived a long life and seen his entire family and friends die; he’s been married twice but never had any children. One day Fate played a trick on him, what he considered a very cruel trick, by dropping a woman into his life. Lisa is a very independent 21st century woman who worked two or more jobs at a time to support herself and her dying mother. One night while working her night job at a museum she touched a silver flask that Circenn had cast a spell on, the spell would return the flask and the person that was touching it back to him. What he didn’t know was that the spell would even bring someone back through time- 700 years through time. So Lisa just appeared in front of him one day. Circenn had made a promise to Adam, the dark fairy that he would kill whoever came back with the flask, but once he saw Lisa he knew he could not kill her. During this time Scotland was fighting a war with England and Circenn and the Knights Templar that he protected were needed for the war. Lisa wanted to go home but he did not know a way to send her home without calling on Adam, who would kill her on sight, so he kept her around but had to lie about who she was. King Robert agreed to say that she was his cousin but then surprised the two of them by announcing they were to be married. Circenn went off to war and left Lisa at his castle and while he was away she wished on this mound and the Fae Queen appeared to give her a wish, Lisa thinking that Circenn was better off without her wished to go home to the future. Circenn called Adam who hot damn big surprise turned out to be Circenn’s DAD helped him get to the future to be with Lisa and to change her whole future to keep the hurt in her life away. I thought this was a pretty good book so my Rating is: 4
