He knew he would protect her with his life and soon learned that she was his mate. Even knowing the Fairies would never accept them as a couple they fall for each other fast. Tiago promised to get her to her new kingdom safely and guard her no matter what. Will their love be stronger than fairy rules? And who on earth is trying to Kill Niniane now that her evil uncle is dead?

Dangerous Kisses- Trish Milburn

What does crime beat reporter Sydney Blackburn and lead detective of the Murder Squad Jake Radley have in common? Besides the need to catch the killer that has been targeting the young women of Nashville? Dangerous Kisses and physical attraction of course! But as Sydney and Jake spend time together their attraction grows into more than either expected, but is it enough? Can Sydney open her heart, can Jake? Can they let their losses of the past go and look to a future together? Or will they forever be separated by the killer who has put Sydney next on the list?
Sydney is a committed reporter working crime scenes. She’s not out there to make a name for herself, but she feels it is her duty to give the public as much information as possible in order to protect themselves. So when she meets Detective Jake Radley she doesn’t mind hounding him a little to get the answers she needs. But Jake is tight lipped and refuses to share case information since he was burned in the past by sharing too much information. Jack and Sydney can’t deny the attraction as we watch the sparks fly as we follow along while they make the decision as to whether or not take the next steps. And since Sydney is the killers next target Jake can’t help but protect her.
Now I totally enjoyed reading a story play out in Nashville. Having read a few other books by Trish Milburn, this by far was the best. Ms. Milburn writes an excellent romantic suspense. It was a good paced story as she builds a solid foundation about Jake and Sydney along with their work and family. Jack and Sydney have a lot of sexual tension from the get go, which keeps you turning the page just wondering are they or aren’t they. Now the suspense was good and I never guessed who the creepy killer was, though I tried really hard. Sydney though strong and self assured, shows enough vulnerability which makes her so much more real and likeable. Jack, dark and moody, need I say more? Well ok, smart and sexy too, but Jack has many sides that we get to see and I so enjoyed meeting his mother!
Now the question is will we get to see more books, because I’d definitely like to read more on Becky or Kevin O’Malley and the Murder Squad.

Elijah- Jacquelyn Frank- book 3

They are called the Nightwalkers, an ancient race devoted to protecting the world from the darkness of the Necromancers. And their proudest warrior is Elijah, a man who bends for nothing and no one...until one woman brings him to his knees…
SOME FEELINGS YOU JUST CAN’T FIGHT
He is known as the Warrior Captain—a master of every weapon, a fierce soldier sworn to protect his kind from violence. Powerful, relentless, merciless, Elijah has always won every battle he’s ever taken on—until now. Ambushed by Necromancers, he is left for dead only to be rescued by a woman who could very well deliver the final blow…Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen.
For over a decade, an uneasy peace has existed between the warring Lycanthropes and Elijah’s people, and he’s not about to let his guard down now around their queen.
But Siena’s will is every bit a match for Elijah’s own, her sleek and sensual nature waking a hunger within him that he cannot deny. Now, the Warrior in Elijah is consumed with a different battle—winning Siena’s heart by giving her pleasure beyond all boundaries. What starts as attraction and arousal soon burns into a passion with consequences that will echo through the ages for both their people. And as would-be enemies become inseparable lovers, another threat approaches, one with the power to destroy them all…
Surrender to the night.
My favorite out of the series so far- I just loved the story between Elijah and Siena. Elijah is the Captain of the Warriors for King Noah and he is serious about his job, his main job right now is to capture the rogue Demon, Ruth. While the Demons and the Lycanthropes are not longer at war that does not mean they have all put their differences aside. Noah and Siena have decided to work together to help bridge the gap between their people.
While Elijah is out searching for Ruth he is seriously wounded, Seina comes to his rescue and pulls him into a cave to protect them both from their enemies and the sun. While Elijah is healing, Seina continues to take care of him, when he finally wakes up he notices a pull towards Siena. Being trapped in the cave together for days the sexual tension gets the best of both of them. Siena has never been with a man before because she doesn't want to share her throne with just anyone, when her kind mate they mate for life. When her sister shows up to check on her Siena knows it's time to go back to her world and for him to go back to his world but the feelings they have for each other are not going away.
There is so much more to this book and I just don't want to give anymore away.

Whirlwind- Robin DeJarnett

Whirlwind is just that – a whirlwind of romance, mystery and fun. We get caught up in the events that take place as Melissa Williams is being stalked by a murderer, having fantasies of a happily ever after and learning to deal with the past.

As Melissa is wrapping up the end of college with her best friend Mitch’s wedding, where she discovers that love at first sight may not be a total myth. Sadden by the realization that Mitch will no longer be around and feeling sorry for herself she looks into Jason McAlister’s eyes for the first time and she sees a future there. But she chalks it up to fantasy and wishful thinking as she knows Jason will be heading back across country at the end of the week. And some how she gets herself put in the cross hairs of a killer who now isn't only after her but Jason as well.

I loved the duality of Melissa as her “naughty” side was awakened by Jason McAlister, the best man and brother of the groom. I was actually giggling when Jason was asking for “naughty Melissa” to come out or not to come out to play. Jason is sweet, charming and handsome, thank goodness some flaws were found as all too perfect doesn’t cut it. The couple is fun and flirty and the book is not overly sexed, but steamy and romantic. I found the interactions between all the characters were fresh and believable. I only had one eye-roll moment and honestly I would have rolled my eyes not matter which book those particular words were written in.
Robin DeJarnett weaves a story that puts you right in the center of the action with her fast paced story and witty writing, you can’t help but turn the page to read what happens next.

Lifeline Echoes- Kay Springsteen

LIFELINE ECHOES is an engaging story of a man and woman who have each lost a love so profound that they don't trust themselves with the vast feelings and emotions that are awakened and ignited when their paths collide on a back road in Wyoming.
Sandy Wheaton is still mourning the loss of Mick, a man that seven years earlier she had fallen in love with, agreed to marry while only hearing his voice and all in 24 hours. Immediately after being told of his death, she leaves her L.A. life behind to travel and ends up settling in a small town in Wyoming.
Ryan McGee is still searching for Angel, his lost love, when he receives an urgent message from his brother Sean that he is needed back home at the McGee Ranch, a home that he had left 16 years earlier in a cloud of mystery, resentment and betrayal.
Kay Springsteen writes a captivating story that is well paced where you find yourself becoming endeared not only to the main characters, Ryan and Sandy, but the Town people themselves. The author's writing drew me into the town and shared with me each emotion that was experienced and it ran the gamut. Not only was I hoping and fretting that Sandy and Ryan would find a love that would heal their hearts, I felt their sexual tension as they tried to work out their past commitments and their rapidly developing romance. I cried as Sandy recalled her conversations with Mick, and I got caught up in the "who done-it" mystery that plagued the McGee Ranch.
This book is a good read if you are looking for a sweet but saucy romance where you get caught up in the life of small town and the stages of falling in love. And I did. I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with Ms. Springsteen and the next book in Elusive Echoes. http://www.theromancereviews.com/viewbooks.php?bookid=2897

Michele Hauf- This Glamorous Evil

High summer temperatures convinced me to hide away and take the afternoon to chill with Michele Hauf’s “THIS GLAMOROUS EVIL”. Little did I know once I started turning the pages of this intriguing story that my own temp would rise to a feverish pitch that kept the ac running all afternoon. From the beginning the hot and extremely sexy, T.J. splashes the pages not only with steamy interludes but a focused purpose which the plot intently revolves around. With a reluctant familiar named Star, a plan of magic along the edge of evil takes flight. While neither knew that what started as a business proposition to find the demon Navicrux, (who holds the key to the evil Daemonia realm), T. J. and Star also engaged into finding the key that unlocksed their hearts. This paranormal novella entices the reader with outstanding character depth and feelings to complete a well rounded tale that definitely have you wanting more. Harlequin’s new Nocturne Craving line is off to a fantastic start and I am looking forward to what is to come.

Sherrilyn Kenyon- Retribution AUDIO BOOK

Harm no human…
A hired gunslinger, William Jessup Brady lived his life with one foot in the grave. He believed that every life had a price. Until the day when he finally found a reason to live. In one single act of brutal betrayal, he lost everything, including his life. Brought back by a Greek goddess to be one of her Dark-Hunters, he gave his immortal soul for vengeance and swore he’d spend eternity protecting the humans he’d once considered prey.
Orphaned as a toddler, Abigail Yager was taken in by a family of vampires and raised on one belief—Dark-Hunters are the evil who prey on both their people and mankind, and they must all be destroyed. While protecting her adoptive race, she has spent her life eliminating the Dark-Hunters and training for the day when she meeting the man who killed her family: Jess Brady.

A gun in the hand is worth two in the holster…

Jess has been charged with finding and terminating the creature who’s assassinating Dark-Hunters. The last thing he expects to find is a human face behind the killings, but when that face bears a striking resemblance to the one who murdered him centuries ago, he knows something evil is going on. He also knows he’s not the one who killed her parents. But Abigail refuses to believe the truth and is determined to see him dead once and for all.
Brought together by an angry god and chased by ancient enemies out to kill them both, they must find a way to overcome their mutual hatred or watch as one of the darkest of powers rises and kills both the races they’ve sworn to protect.

Spectacular, Marvelous, Sensational those are just three words I can use to describe this audio book read by Holter Graham. I first read the ebook version and then listened to the audio book and let me tell you I picked up on things I had missed when I read it. This was my first audio book to listen to and I loved it. Mr. Graham's voice was perfect for this rugged story with its sexy cowboy lead Dark Hunter. I was not sure what to expect when I first popped the #1 cd into my car cd player but I was not disappointed. He captured the characters and set the scenes so you felt like you were there. When I read the story I was a little confused over some of the characters but after hearing them and their stories I get it now. I actually cried at the end with the bonus scene, the feelings he portrayed made you feel the joy and love and even excitement of the moment in the story.
Jess "Sundown" Brady is in Las Vegas to catch the person or persons killing off other Dark Hunters. Abigail is a human who is out for blood, Dark Hunter blood but mainly Jess Brady's blood. She thinks he is the one that killed her parents years ago and has set her goal in life to find him and to gut him. When the tables are turned and she is captured by Sundown she finds out that not all the things she was told and believed in her life were true. When she opens her heart and mind she sees him for the man he truly is.
I loved how my favorite characters from past books made appearances in this book, Talon & Zarek stop by to help Sundown out and man oh man Sasha was in this book- I laughed out loud while reading the ebook but to hear him in the audio book was even better- his one liners are the best!!
My Rating for the Audio book & to Holter Graham= 4.5

Gideon- Jacquelyn Frank (book 2)

They're called the Nightwalkers—proud, ancient beings who live in the shadows, existing just beyond the human world. But there are also dangerous humans who hunt them—necromancers who use the blackest magic to manipulate them. And for a Demon named Gideon, the battle against these evil forces will soon be all too personal.
AS A HEALER, HE KNOWS HER BODY.
BUT IT'S HER HEART HE WANTS.
For a thousand years, Gideon has healed his people. And as the oldest surviving male of his race, his wisdom has always been respected without question.
But Gideon knows that even he is vulnerable to the powerful, primitive desires that befall his kind during Hallowed moons—and nine years ago that truth was hammered home when he found himself claiming Magdelegna, the Demon King's sister, in a wild embrace. Horrified by his lack of control, he left her wanting and furious—and then exiled himself for the better part of a decade. Now, with necromancers threatening his people—and Magdelegna nearly their victim—Gideon must face another truth. He and the beautiful, stubborn Magdelegna are destined to be together, to share a love as deep and old as time itself. But first he needs to regain her trust. Then he'll have to save her life.
Every night holds secrets.
Oh man where to begin... again I thought this was a great story but jeez my poor dictionary is worn out from having to look up so many words. You know I am not a dumb person nor am I a really smart person but jeez these books are “wordy” The romance and love is completely there for me and so is the action but honestly I had to skim over a few paragraphs picking out a few words without reading the whole thing and I actually got what she was trying to say with only reading a few words.
I liked Magdelegna from day one in Jacob’s book, she is not this little whiney helpless female even though she has been sheltered and taken care of her whole life. She is the youngest sister to the Demon King Noah (and I like Noah, can’t wait to read his book) Legna is a Mind Demon and a very strong one for her age. During the book you find out why and how she became as strong as she is at her young age. I say young age but she is over 200 years old but to the demons that is still young. Legna becomes best friends with Bella who is mated to Jacob from the first book. Thirteen years ago Legna kissed Gideon during the moon phase and when he realized what was happening her backed away from her and called her a child. This hurt Legna so she avoided him ever sense then but she had help staying away from him since he put himself into self-exile after being caught with a human woman after he was with Legna.
Gideon is the oldest of their kind, he is a Body Demon. He is able to heal others and is considered a medic which is like a doctor. Being over 1000 years old her thought he would never find his mate due to what he did in the past and with the war with the Druids. When he realized he had Imprinted with Legna he felt he did not deserve her and at first was not sure if he was capable of loving someone. Gideon is straight to the point, matter of fact and a demon that doesn’t lie. He doesn’t consider others feelings and thinks by telling them the truth he could not be hurting anyone. Once they both open their minds and hearts to each other they know they are perfect for each other. I really enjoyed seeing him open up to her and get a sense of humor. The story is so full of their romance at the beginning I was starting to worry we might not have a bad guy in this book but the necromancers showed up at the end for a full on battle. We also met the Queen of the Lycanthropes, Siena who met her mate in this book but he just doesn’t know it yet.

Jacob- Jacquelyn Frank (book 1)

Ever started a book and as much as you loved the story line you just could not get into the book?? Well that is what happened to me with this book, at first lol. I got to about Chapter 4 and then it turned around so much I could hardly put it down. The book is a little, um wordier (is that even a word??) than I am use to. I’m not saying I read plain, simple books but I did have to use the Dictionary feature on my Kindle more than 10 times while reading it.
Jacob is a Demon; he is the Enforcer Demon for all the Demon races. Twice a year with certain full moon phases the demons become wilder and more aggressive towards humans. It is Jacob’s job to stop them and to deal out the punishment for their crimes or even their almost crimes, if that makes sense. He is over 600 years old and is extremely strong in his beliefs about right and wrong for his race. All the demons look like humans on the outside and all are very good looking. Over the years there have been many wars with other species, from vampires to Druids. An old nemesis is now summoning Demons by their given names and using magic to strip the outside human appearance to show the true Demons that live within them. When this happens it is Jacob’s job and duty to kill the demons even if they were friends or family. While out searching for the necromancers that are summoning the Demons he meets Isabella, a human woman and the first woman to spark his interest in over 400 years.
Isabella feels the call to the moon and it is something she cannot understand. She knows she is just a simple woman who works at the library but when she meets the handsome stranger so many new feelings awake within her. With abilities she never knew she had, she helps Jacob locate the evil pulling the Demons to use for his own depraved purposes.
Isabella is pulled into a world she never knew existed and once there she never wants to leave with or without Jacob. The romance side of this book is a mixed in with the kick ass part of necromancer hunting so it was never too fluffy or never to kick ass, a great mix of both. Once Jacob and Isabella learn all that is in their future their world changes, sometimes for the best and sometimes for the worst, but with their love for each other and the help from friends their lives only get better and more interesting.

Primal Law - J.D. Tyler (book 1)

Founded by a group of former Navy SEALS, the Alpha Pack is a top-secret team of wolf shifters with Psy powers tasked with eliminating the most dangerous predators in the world. But the gift of their abilities comes at a price…
After a massacre decimates half his team and leaves him crippled, Jaxon Law must relearn how to fight—and battle the anger and guilt threatening to overwhelm him. But when he rescues a beautiful woman who reawakens his primal instincts, Jax is unprepared for the dangers that lie ahead.
On the run from her employer, brilliant lab assistant Kira Locke has evidence that leads the Alpha Pack on a hunt for someone targeting human civilians with Psy abilities. And as Jax and Kira circle both the killer and each other, Jax will have to decide if the deep connection he feels with Kira is worth breaking the ultimate shifter rule—because bonding with Kira means putting his abilities at risk, and they might be the only tools he has to keep his mate alive…
Well this is another book I heard about on Facebook and let me tell you I am not disappointed about someone telling me about it. Wow what a good start for this new series, it was action packed enough to keep my attention so much that I didn't want to put it down for the past two days. I've read over 60 books this year alone and this book is def. in my top 5. It has been months since I read a book that held my attention like this one. Oh and the ending, well it surprised me and that doesn't happen very often.  I look forward to book two in April.
Jax and his friends are ex-SEALS who were attacked and changed into wolves, not werewolves but shifters, they can switch from man to wolf. In this book we find out some of what happened over there and a little about how the other members of the team are adjusting to this. They now live in a compound in Wyoming with a new team leader and a new member that are both born shifters not made shifters. Jax saves Kira while he is on a weekend off in Las Vegas, once she sees him shift he is forced to take her back to the compound with him to meet his boss, Nick. Each of the members of the Alpha pack had special abilities before they were attacked and they intensified once they became shifters. So of course there are really bad guys in this book but we don't actually meet them yet but we do know who they are.
Since becoming shifters there was only one mated couple so the doctors and the men really don't know much about it because it seems each mating is a little different. Jax knows something sparked when he saved Kira and touched her for the first time but he had no idea it was the mating bond. Kira also felt the spark but did not understand what it was either. Once they are both made aware of what was happening to their bodies neither really wanted it but for different reasons, Jax knew he could never trust a woman again and knew he could not give his heart away again. Kira like most woman did not like that fate took the choice from her and actually wanted real love not just chemistry. In the end chemistry, fate and love all win out.

What can I say but that I loved the book. It kept my interest from beginning to end. Loved the bonus scene about Ash and Tori and hopefully Artemis is going to behave. I can hope can't I lol. Loved interaction between all the characters. I loved the story and plot. Jess and Abbie are great together. I enjoyed all the humor in the book and why I enjoyed the ending still keeps me wondering what will happen with Coyote and Choo. I enjoyed about the Buffalo and Butterfly. I feel the story was put together really well and I enjoyed the humor. Sasha Jess and Andy are great with the humor. I loved Choo Abby and Ren also. I enjoyed the plot and loved the story of Jess and Abbie. I am looking forward to the next one. My score for the book would be a 5 with it being the best.  Review by SANDY- Guest Blogger

First off, if I would have know that Ms. Kenyon was going to introduce a new pantheon I would have gone in knowing. But since I didn't know that ahead of time. When I started reading Retribution, I felt lost and confused. Where were the Daimons? Where was New Orleans? Where are the rest of the Dark Hunters? Where is Nick? I felt like I was reading just another story. I thought that Jess and Abigail came together too quickly. How did Abigail get adopted by an Apollite family?
Now, since I've had some time to ruminate some things in my head since putting down the book yesterday after I finished it, I absolutely LOVED all the Native American symbolism in it. I am a proud member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. So all that was cool, and I can't wait to read more in Ren's book and Time Untime. I enjoyed the Bonus Scene. I'm glad that Artie isn't a complete Heifer Goddess, and I have a feeling that Nick is good for her. Even though, I'm with Simi....she needs to be eaten with some good BBQ sauce! I would give the book, Retribution....3 out of 5 stars.....it was average to me. Review by DAWN- Guest blogger

It took me only seconds to remember who Sundown was. He was one of the only Dark Hunters Zarek liked and allowed around him that came to his aid when Z needed him. Then when Sasha (the shifter pretending to be Astrid’s pet wolf, while she was testing Zarek) made his appearance I knew for sure it was him. First of all I loved this book, I've always loved Native American stories and they had it in just about every part of this book. So let me tell you a LITTLE bit about the story, Jess “Sundown” Brady was a Hired Gun that turned his life around as soon as he saw the love of his life Matilda. He wanted to change his life, give up the killing and robbing life to be the man worthy of her love. On the day of their wedding, his best friend shot him in the back and in the head. Then he raped Matilda. Jess died with revenge on his last breath. And of course Artemis heard him and gave him the deal of being able to get revenge on the person who did him wrong then after 24 hrs he would become a Dark Hunter. Jess didn’t want to come back to avenge himself, but the rape of his wife to be. After killing his best friend slowly, Jess knew he couldn't go back for Matilda so he watched and cared for her until she died. He also took care of her family members over the years so they were financially stable. Abigail Yager was one of those descendants. After befriending Abigail’s mother before she was born, Jess just wanted to be close to the family members of his lost love. Until one evening Abigail’s jealous father demanded they stopped being friends. That argument with Jess and her parents was seared in her memory. Terrible things happened right after Jess left and she blamed him for it. While also being fed false information from people she considered her family, her only goal was to kill Sundown, the evil hired gun. But what she found was humorous loving Cowboy and she couldn't figure out how or why her hate turned to love so quickly.
You would think it was God sent or Destiny
My Rating is 4.5    Review by LT

p.s. I loved the Bonus Scene with Ash and Tory, only thing I didn’t like was.. I can tell they are trying to make Artemis not the evil Bitch she’s always been and I still don’t like her. As mad as I am at Nick he doesn't even deserve that...lol

Unlike everyone else I did not remember Sundown and honestly not sure why not because if he was in Zarek's book I should have remembered him since Zarek is one of my favorite DH's. I really enjoyed the story, loved Jess from the beginning of this story and Abagail was a good match for him. But I have to get this out too, I was a little confused on a few aspects of the story, I felt that a few details were left out. I know the story started in the past with Jess being killed and becoming a Dark Hunter but then jumps to the present. He was friends with Abagail's mother but I never figured out when, or just how old Abagail really is. Laura, Abagail's mother, is a descendant from Matilda, who was the woman that Jess was about to marry when he was murdered. There are a lot of Native American men in this book and I really liked that but lol all of them confused me about who was related to who and who was what and when. I know that sounds stupid of me but all of these men are old and have been around for hundreds of years. A few of my favorite past characters are in this book, Zarek, Talon and Sasha and boy I really enjoyed that, knowing what is going on with them was a highlight for this story. Sasha is absolutely hilarious, loved, loved, loved him, I can not wait for his book if he gets ones!!  Maybe it was just me but this book was more..story and not as much sex as the other books but maybe that is just my thoughts. I wanted to hear more about what he did to Bart, I wanted more explanation of Time, Untime, I just wanted more.
My thoughts: Hilarious, Warm, action packed and interesting
My Ratings: 4.5   Review by Wendy
The bonus scene was great, made me tear up that Ash finally has happiness in his life with his wife and new baby but I still don't trust Artemis (once an evil bitch, always an evil bitch if you ask me)

Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter books always have me waiting for the next one. With a blast from the past we get Sundown’s story along with a full host of long ago originals who we haven’t heard much from since their books (Ren, Zarek, Talon, Sasha, etc.) which really had me wanting to catch up but I also quickly realized that the constants, Ash, Artemis, Nick etc. all took a back seat and were almost nonexistent. We have delved into Greek mythology, touched on Atlantean, battled Daimons and have had demons thrown into the mix. We’ve been there with the Dark Hunters, the Were Hunters, the Dream Hunters and the Hellchasers who all seemed to have common thread throughout their stories.
With Retribution a new Pantheon of Native American Gods have been added with this book and I didn’t feel the old common thread that tied all the other books together. It seemed disjointed and somewhat lacking the momentum from the previous books.
Now I’m not saying it was bad, it wasn’t. The love story about Sundown (Jess) and Abigail was good. Abigail’s parents were killed when she was young and she believed Jess was their killer. She was raised by Apollities who feed her belief and tainted her thinking. As the book progresses Abby realizes her mistakes and Sundown realizes that he has lost his heart and fears the outcome. Together they battle to save the future and save themselves from repeating the pasts.
I’m sure that Sherrilyn Kenyon will be continuing the Native American theme as it is interesting, I just hope that she will bring it into the fold of her tried and true formula.
The bonus scene at the end featuring Ash and Tory was great and exactly the right formula that has us fans returning book after book. I will be there in November for The Guardian my next fulfillment of Kenyon.

Ryhanna Byrd - Last Wolf Hunting - Book 2

The second book of the Bloodrunner Series finds Jeremy Burns going back to the one place he hates most, Shadow Peak, Maryland. Ten years ago he swore never to return to the Silvercrest werewolf community, and the only woman he ever cared about. But with the trouble of rogues on the rise and the evidence pointing to a prominent leader from the town, the Bloodrunner’s ( half human, half werewolf ) need him on the inside to find the cause of the human killings. Forcing his need aside for the beautiful Spirit Walker of the pack, Jillian Murphy, Jeremy is determine to do only his job and get out as soon as he can. A second chance to come together as lifemates is something neither Jeremy or Jillian want to think about. Pealing away the secrets and pain held in their hearts is a risk too great to take. “Trust” is the key word that neither hold for one another. Yet as they work together to find the truth from the clues of the crimes they also uncover the strong attraction and love they have been denying for a decade.
